Cornish Hen Party...

For the last couple of years my quilt guild in Cornish hosts the Cornish Hen Party. The party is always the first Sunday in June in the early afternoon. Everyone brings a covered dish, their own placemat, napkin, plate, silverware, and glass. We mix and get to know each other - and at the end of the dinner we introduce ourselves and talk about our interests.

The interesting part of the Hen Party is that it is only women - no roosters or chicks allowed. (except for nursing babies)

Last year we made a quilt - that was given away to one of the attendees. Each person gets a ticket and if one wishes more chances we sell them at one for $1 or 6 for $5. Last year's quilt was a HUGE success. Everyone wanted to win it. So we decided to use the money to buy the fabric for this year's quilt. Each of the guild members makes a block...

Here is the block I made:

All the fabric is the same as is the pattern. We love this pattern and make all of our charity quilts using it.

I love that pattern too, it's just simple and easy to make, but stunning when completed. I hope your auction is successful again this year. Sounds like a fun evening :)
