Imagine My Surprise...

I've been reading Terri's Blog - Sew-Fantastic for a while now...I enjoy reading about the things she makes, the blogs she visits, and in general whatever she is talking about at that moment.

Well, imagine my Surprize (yes, that is an album title of a great collection of songs by Holly Near) when I wandered over to her blog to find out she was talking about me. Me, little ole me!

She awarded me her Loyal Commenter Award - she had some pretty nice things to say about me...why don't you pop on over and see - it would be here!

Then, my friend, Stephanie over at Jonquils and Ladybugs awarded me Lemonade Award. The award recognizes those bloggers that show gratitude and/or attitude.

I really enjoy Stephanie's blog too. She has the cutest little boy, Jackson, whom she blogs about sometimes - he just turned one!

Again, I was so surprised. I am supposed to pick some other bloggers to pass this award on to - but, you know me - I think all my blogging friends deserve the award...So, go for it...

Update on Daughter...Bloglines...

Daughter is still in the hospital...but, hopefully she is going home today or tomorrow. It is pneumonia! But, they are treating her well and she is getting better. She is rather restless - cause she's just used to being out and about...but she has done well for this being her first time in a hospital other than when she was born.

She doesn't want me coming out there - and she is probably right - there isn't much I could do. (well, besides being an overly concerned mom!) But, I still worry...

Oh, and Bloglines is down...and has been for a while - so, I will be reading blogs as soon as it pops up!

Creating...and an Award...

My buddy, Sarah, over at Mom's Knitting presented me with this lovely award! Thanks, Sarah. She said it was because we think alike - and she is so right!!! I'll be passing the award along sometime in the coming week!
I am much better today...the sinuses are clear - even though it is hot and muggy!!!! Thanks to those who sent kind thoughts...

I am up to my arse in alligators trying to finish up a block that needs to go in the mail before the owner sends the law out to find me. I just could not get it together to work on it...Nothing was happening in my brain! But, I have an idea and I am running with it...

So, I'm off to the sewing machine!!!

And, it was a WONDERFUL trip!

I just finished catching up on my bloglines - I did no commenting! It was entirely too many blog entries to even try...but, at least I am caught up on reading!

Need to catch up on Ravelry...and personal e-mail...and then I'll tell you all about my wonderful long week-end!

Surprised...

Big Surprise yesterday! My blog was selected as Michele's Site of the Day!

Now for those of you who don't know Michele - I will explain. She runs a really fun blog - and each week has cool questions (some actually make you think!)...and on the week-ends she hosts a Meet and Greet. Basically, you log onto her blog - and during the meet and greet - you say "hello" to her and then go visit the blog of the person who has posted before you! Also, once a week, she has what is called the Site of the Day where she picks a blog and everyone goes and says "hi"...

I have met some really fascinating people through her Meet and Greet and her Site of the Day...writers, artists, photographers, and even ordinary people like me...and some have become friends...

Blogging...

Over at oranginadreams, Anne was questioning how we chose the blogs in our blogroll and whether we add blogs to our blogroll right away.

I really had to think about how I do that - and what my blogroll is all about. When I first started blogging - I had very few blogs on my blogroll. Most of them were friends (internet and personal) that either quilted or did a lot of knitting. I pretty much hung with them most of the time. And, none of those has changed...and many have become close dear friends.

New blogs are usually added the minute I read them...because I don't want to lose them. I will read them for a while and see how they fit into my life - and sometimes see what I can offer to their life...if the fit is good...they stay on my blogroll.

Now you have to understand my passions are: quilting, knitting, food (both eating & cooking), reading, music, travel and photography.

I came upon several cooking blogs - and added them. A blog or two expanded from these to include a year of bread making lessons.

I also like blogs that don't fit into any categories that are in my passions list - but, they make me think or laugh or view life differently...and a few of those popped up and they suddenly became daily reads.

Then totally separate and apart from my blogroll I have a list of favorites that are Daily City Photos. They meet my arm chair travel needs and my photography needs. And, from them I feel that I am expanding as a photographer.

Each day I read my blogroll list of updated blogs - and sometimes I will comment and other times I don't. But, each blog that I visit is like seeing an old friend...and I am inspired by each that I visit.
