A Year of Simple Things...Week 19
Refrigerator pickles - such a simple thing. Before when I made pickles it was the water bath way. Easy enough - but this was so much simpler. Carole gave me the idea when she made some refrigerator pickles...using her take on a recipe found at Coconut and Lime. Ended up making six jars!
These pickles are so much more crunchier than any other pickles I've ever made! Thanks, Carole and Coconut and Lime!!!

Hmm - not a pickle household....
[reads down]
oh, I like the look of the Friday Fill-In.
I'm making sure my sewing machine doesn't know my name! And I'm sure if pets could talk, Pandy (18yr old cat) would witter on about her joints ache and how thoughtless Charlie (2yr old feline) is...
Michele sent me, Sara! :-) I'm so glad she did....

My dad makes his own pickles too, he even grows everything himself. They're delish, and I don't like cucumbers so they're definitely pickly but still have the cucumber crunch.
I came over from Michele's and now I want some pickles.
Yum, pickles. These really look dee-lish. I could almost reach out and nab one. *munchmunch*
Wandered over from Michele's today.
I love pickles, and not just because the word "pickle" is 27% funnier than any other word.
BUT...I'd never think to make my own.
FORGOT to tell you that my last comment was sponsored by Michele.

They do look mighty yummy, Sara! I'll have to look up that recipe..I know I won't make them, but I like looking at recipes anyway...lol!
Thanks for your comment on my SMOKING post...It will be starting my 38th year on November 13th...! Still, the damage was done, as you said, and the fact that I stopped all these many years aho doesn't seem to matter...One thing I know: It not only could be worse if I hadn't stopped, but, I most likely would not be writing this to you right now.
YUMMY! I ran out of time this year....was hoping to make pickles, but alas, I will have to rely on the heart and generous nature of my friends.
They look yummy......and crunchy.
My mouth is watering as I type my hello from Michele....

Crunchy pickles are the best --- I can't stand limp pickles:-)

sounds tasty. I wish I was as handy around the house as you obviously are. I can't knit or crochet or do anything very interesting to food. I can juggle, though. Does that count for anything?
