She's Still Sewing...

Killian, here...

She's still sewing! Plus today she went over to Scarlett and Elizabeth's to teach Scarlett how to make her "special" rice pudding.

Plus she's been reading a lot at night - Know she finished a book by Sandra Brown last night. It was Tempest in Eden. She said it was good. Know she got some books from the library yesterday - but, can't remember what they were.

She was really sad yesterday. Seems Grammy told her that she didn't know who she was and treated her like a total stranger. I think it is really hard on Mommy when Granny slips away like that. I tried to make it all better - and was next to her all night while she slept.

Well, later - ya'll...

Sorry your mom is at the stage of not knowing you. I can't imagine how hard that must be. Someone I know who deals with dementia and Alzheimer's patients said the only good thing is that the patient usually doesn't KNOW they are so ill and in a long-term care facility once their minds get that fuzzy.....and that might be a blessing for them and many families try to look at it that way (even though it is heartbreaking).

Sorry to hear about your Mom. My CR's Mom went through that too and it was so hard to watch such a sweet lady slip away from us. Hang in there and tell Killian to keep us posted.

I know that must be hard for you. We have a friend that has been our friend for 30 yrs, my husband grew up with his son and he is starting not to remember. It is really hard. You just have to remember what she was like before and just do what you can for her. You are an excellent daughter and maybe you will be there one day when she is having a good day and remembers.
