You Make My Day!...

My friend, Jen, recently presented me with this award. You Make My Day! How nice is that! It feels good to know that I in some small way brighten someone's day!

I am supposed to choose ten other bloggers who do the same for me...the blogs I have chosen are blogs that are really new to me...within the last few months...The bloggers who I have read forever know how much they inspire me and add to my life. I wanted to let some of the new bloggers (to me) know that they too inspire me...and Make My Day!

The blogs I have chosen for this award are: (in no particular order)

AmandaJean at Crazy Mom Quilts.

I love going to her blog to see what she quilting creation she has just finished...or is just starting. She also has inspired me to get my-butt-in-the-chair-in-front-of-my-sewing-machine-again! She's made me realize a bunch of different ways to make new and pretty quilts.

Joe at Culinary in the Country.

This blog just amazes me with all the food ideas. I've tried several of his recipes and gotta tell you they are good. My pooches love his doggie bagels! They see me pulling the little bag out of the refrig and they go Nuts! He has made me realize that it can be fun to make my own snacks and try new foods.

Janet at Fond of Snape

The photography and the Friday-fill in all make my day. The FFI causes me to think and at times appreciate my life and what I do have. Her photography is great!!!! Through her blog, she has given me fun times...

Lynne at SockLadySpins

Lynne makes the most incredible socks! Bar None! She is truly an inspiration to me and my knitting...I can't wait for her blog to open up to see what she has been working on next! I feel like a kid in a candy store everytime I go to her blog.

Carmi at Written Inc.

Carmi makes me think! No ands, if, or buts about it! Additionally, his love of his family is truly amazing...and there is such a "gentleness" that comes through as he writes about his every day experiences. His photography makes one think! It is beautiful! What Carmi shows with ordinary things in his photos is great!

Colleen at Loose Leaf Notes.

Colleen is another one that makes me think! Plus with her blog I get to revisit one of the best areas that we lived close to when we lived in Tennessee. Her blog showcases not only her talent for writing both prose and poetry - but, gives an insight to living in the small Blue Ridge Mountain town of Floyd. It is always with anticipation that I open her blog.

Naomi at Here in the Hills

Naomi's life shines through her blog. I get to revisit an era of Hollywood and the the creative folk who are her friends through her blog entries and memories...and at the same time see the area as it is today. She and Sweetie share their lives through both prose and photos.

Shephard at Shephard's Alley

This blog offers a glimpse into the life of a very talent man who enjoys living and sharing his life with us through photos, artwork, and the written word. There is a joy that I feel when I visit his blog...and I get to visit Los Angeles and see all the things he has been doing vicariously!

Jilly at Riviera Dogs, Monte Carlo Daily Photo, and Menton Daily Photo

What is not to love about arm-chair travel...and Jilly shows off this gorgeous area with such lush photos...I've been tempted to move several times! Sometimes one just needs pretty pictures to make their day - and Jilly provides them!

Fenix at Bostonscapes

Fenix over at Bostonscapes offers me my daily view of Boston. If you've read my blog for any length of time - you know I love Boston! I swear I must have lived there in another life! It has been the city of my heart since I was in my early 20s! And, I get to see it each day and visit all the neighborhoods as if I lived there...

So there you go...my Ten...and there could have been an award for everyone on my blogroll...thanks for Making My Day!!!

Update by Sara: Please do not feel that you have to go and pass this award on - it is all up to you!!!

Hey Sara, Michele sent me to say hi and CONGRATULATIONS!

There's our beloved Carmi and Naomi, picking up awards for their magical blogging skills again....

I don't know the others (except Shephard), but those two are the most wonderful additions to my life, welcoming me into their lives and their homes :-)

Thanks for the kind words about my blog and socks. Each pair of socks I make am thinking about the person they are intended for so lots of love and good thoughts go into each pair.

CONGRATULATIONS to you, dear Sara...And, I thank you so very much Sara, for passing on this lovely Award to me...! I am most honored to have been chosen as one of your ten...!

Just so you know, I am kind of funny about Awards...And personally find it impossible to choose people to be singled out....I'm sorry about that, but that is just a personal feeling and quirk, if you will.
I will understand if you prefer to give this Award to someone else who will pass it on, my dear....
Just know that I am truly honored that you did choose me as one of your ten...And I thank you with all my heart.

Sara, thank you so much for passing on this award. You'll see I've added your name on the Menton and Monte Carlo blogs and will be adding it to Riviera Dogs. Am so chuffed you like the blogs.

One of the joys of your post today is that I only knew one of the blogs you listed - Fenix from Bostonscapes and I love his blog too. So I've had the best fun this morning looking and so enjoying your other choices - so wonderful writing and photography there.

Again big hug and kiss from the south of France - Jilly xxx

You've made some great choices there, Sara. I took a look at (nearly) all of them. The selection gives a lot of insight into your interests - poetry, photography, a sense of home place. Thanks for the blog tour!
